The construction serves for flood protection of the area located under the designed construction.

Protection dam Svacenický Jarok is a part of flood protection of the area, which is located in the Western Slovakia in a Cadastral zone of Myjava town, its part Turá Lúka. Town Myjava has recently suffered from frequent floods, resulting in huge material damages, thus significantly limiting the quality of life the local people can afford. Protection dam enables decrease of a peak flow of the designed flood Q100 = 16.00 m3.s-1 with outlet discharge Qdischarge = 0.21 m3.s-1
