Basic characteristics of the construction and its future operation:
The construction is located in cadastral area of municipalities Valaská, Hronec and Sihla. The territory lies in the western part of Slovenské Rudohorie (Slovak Ore Mountains) – in Vepor Mountains, in the part of Balocké Mountains.
The main function of WR Hronček is use of hydrologic potential of Kamenistý Brook for prospective drinking water supply in regions of Brezno, Banská Bystrica and Zvolen. The additional value of the construction is electricity production and protection of the territory against floods.
